Hostal Villa Colonial de Zacatecas

Oct 3, 2008

This is a well-equipped hostel in a great position, right at the heart of this beautiful and fascinating town. Ernesto and his staff looked after us and the other guests extremely well and in the friendliest way. Very strongly recommended, the hostel and the town. more

Hotel Posada Tolosa

Aug 30, 2008

Massive rooms, albeit rather characterless and with uninspiring little bathrooms. Larger rooms often have no windows. Whole place is pleasant but feels like a rather soul-less spot in an otherwise lovely town. more

I stayed there for one night as I couldn't find vacancy anywhere else. The rooms are super small, horrible and smell like drain. The sheets are old and the towels are extremely old. Nothing to do with their webpage. Don't stay there! more

We chose this hotel after reading very positive reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel does indeed have a number of positives, including great location, good restaurant for breakfast (which even had a piano player one morning), friendly concierge, valet parking, free wi-fi zone with 3 available computers, and very large rooms with high beamed ceilings. We were 3 people, so booked... more

A friend from Zacatecas recommended the Don Miguel, saying everyone he knew that had stayed there gave it a thumbs up. He was right. We got a double room for about $65 and it was well worth it. Large, airy rooms, fine view and a good shower. The beds were firm and comfortable. The buffet was not included, but for... more

My family and I stayed at Hotel Emporio for 3 nights in early July. We were very pleased with the hotel. Great location in Zacatecas, within easy walking distance of numerous museums and churches. We had no problems walking to the El Eden Mine and then to the the Teleférico (Gondola). We ended up walking back down to the hotel... more

I found Emporio to be a fantastic value. We booked through Orbitz for a price that I have paid for lesser hotels. This hotel has everything you need, is in a great location, and offers personal, attentive service. You can't beat the location, right across from Catedral, and if you want to stay in for the day, the hotel has... more

My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights in this hotel during our visit to Zacatecas, and from the minute we entered the lobby we were impressed with the cleanliness and overall just how nice the hotel was for the price. The room was excellent with a great bed, bathroom, TV, and a view of la Bufa out our window. There's... more

May 22, 2008

We suddenly had to travel to Canada from Puerto Vallarta (so we didn't have time to research and plan). We arrived there at the end of our driving day and just happened upon it. (It's strategically located near the junction of all the major highways: Guadalajara, Saltillo, Aguascalientes, etc.) It worked out very well for our needs! First, the rate... more

Unfortunately I can´t speak Spanish, and found after the first 5 minutes of looking at and appreciating the enormity of the mine, that the rest of the tour was wasted on me. If you can understand Spanish you will probably enjoy it, otherwise I found it a very long, cold hour not being able to understand any of the stories. more

La Casona De Los Vitrales

May 15, 2008

La Casona de los Vitrales is in a beautifully restored building in a very convenient, perhaps the best, location in Zacatecas. Unfortunately, the restoration using beautiful Mexican tiles on walls and floors and the design of a two-floor atrium lobby did not take into account noise. In my second-floor room, I could hear the television from the lobby and the... more

i have stayed at casa lucia twice in 2007 both stays were excellent. request a room in front with balcony, you wont regret it....when you are tired of the action you can close the shutters and hardly hear a thing except for the most loudest car stereo or banda tunes. it could have stood a renovation and could have been... more

I was a little concerned after reading the reviews but the hotel wasn't really all that bad. It is up on a hill so far from downtown but the rooms themselves were nice. My room faced the highway and wasn't very noisy but being on the non road side would probably be suggested if your a light sleeper. I stayed... more

La Casona De Los Vitrales

We were very happy with this hotel and would stay there again. Our room had a king-sized bed and TV and was very quiet. We especially liked the location which was on a side street and away from the noise of heavy traffic. The hotel is across the street from a beautiful plaza and kitty corner from the Alameda where... more

Just returned from a trip to Zacatecas. Emporio Zacatecas has a location that cannot be beat, right across the street from the Cathedral, with easy access to all the points of interest. My room was on the 6th floor, and was facing the courtyard, was sunny and very spacious, and very quiet. Although it showed some minor wear and tear,... more

Emporio is a very nice hotel. Our room was spotless clean with very comfortable beds. Their staff at the reception and at their restaurant was very friendly. Their buffet breakfast was delicious and offered a wide array of dishes. Its central location is a plus as it is surrounded by shops you can easily walk to if you wish to... more

My wife and I are traveling around Mexico and stayed in this hotel for 4 days towards the end of our trip. (The previous night was, unfortunately, spent at the very noisy Casa Santa Lucia). From the warm welcome at the front desk to the informative and helpful staff to the gorgeous, well appointed room (we were given an upgrade... more

Everything about our visit was positive. The room was total luxury with great linens and we loved watching Fox International TV. Even the bath towels were folded into fans and tied with burgandy ribbons. The staff was wonderful and Jesus, the manager, was able to give us great suggestions for restuarants and sightseeing. It was a bit odd to not... more

I stayed at the Villa Colonial on recommendation from the Chihuahua hostel owners and was not disappointed. I had a great time there, taking part in the trips the hostel organized, exploring the city and making friends with people from all over the world! There is a small place in the same street called "Maria Bonita" that I can recommend... more
