I think the term boutique hotel is overused. The rule seems to be, if you have less than 50 rooms and the lobby is full of scented candles then the name rings true. My wife and I stayed at the Horse and Groom for two nights during a tour of the Cotswolds. It's actually in Bourton-on-the-Hill, which is a charming and very picturesque village, but there is truly nothing there except for the H&G and a gas station just up the road. Cheltenham is my nearest town (10 miles) and I regularly eat out at this and a number of other venues. For some time now Monty's has consistently served the best food and always with the highest standards of service. superb hotel, particularly the decadent SEZINCOTE SUITE......centrepiece is the HUGE marble oval bath, which is like a mini swimming pool, with feature lighting, ...........fabulous staff, divine food with a french bias, child friendly and a babysitting service availible which i would not hesitate to recommend.
