Purdy's Natural Macadamia Nuts

Oct 3, 2008

This was a fun, low-key place. Unlike the big mac nut farms on the big island, you can actually visit this one and walk through the trees. It is a small operation, but that is why it is great. The owners tell you all about how the nuts are grown and what they do to get them ready for sale.... more

We found Wavecrest through vrbo.com, which was a great site to book directly with the owner of the condo. And what an amazing condo it was! Unit A112, first level. The patio opened right up to the ocean, although there is no beach for swimming. There is a great pool, got lots of sun and has a great view of... more

*Hotel Website-mis-leading! Does not reflect the true conditions of this hotel *Upon reviewing the reviews on trip advisor regarding this hotel, most of the comments are right on. However, there is NO GREEN grass on the golf course. There is dead grass and over 1OO closed hotel rooms. We arrived late and could not find our unit, because the lights... more

Hotel Molokai is actually a condominium complex in which the majority is owned by Hotel Molokai. There are some privately owned units...and these are where you should stay because the owners of these units care about your experience. Our friends stayed in a hotel unit and theirs did not compare to ours. We stayed in a private unit and it... more

We just returned from a week at the Hotel Moloka'i and have to agree with a previous reviewer that the hotel is marginal at best. At this writing there is no other hotel open on Moloka'i. The Moloka'i Ranch has closed and the only other alternatives are condos and maybe a B&B or two. Consequently, the hotel seems to be... more

I have not only visited Molokaʻi, I ʻam a native born Hawaiian to the island. We welcome all visitors to visit...not to live. We have a special way of living and doing things on Molokaʻi. We still hunt, fish, and gather from the land for sustenance. By people influencing our waters and land in a negative way, makes it hard... more

The Molokai Mule Ride was one of the best vacation adventures we have ever done. The mules are well trained and know their job well, which is to take you down the switchback trail on the 1,700 foot sea cliffs. If you haven't ridden a mule or horse before, be prepared to be a little sore, but please trust me... more

Our best friends got married on Molokai on July 11, 2008, and we came to share the event with them. We booked two nights at the Hotel Molokai, as the spectacular Molokai Ranch resort closed earlier in the year. I must admit there was a certain charm to the architecture of the Hotel Molokai. In fact, it reminded me of... more

Molokai is what Hawaii used to be - peaceful, slow paced and laid back. That also describes Hotel Molokai. This is an older, nicely kept hotel. If you are looking for an air conditioned resort with white sand beaches, you'll have to look elsewhere. We stayed in one of the garden rooms, which is one of the less expensive rooms,... more

We spent two nights and three full days at this beautiful B&B in Molokai. Our hosts Tom and Karyl were so kind and welcoming. Their home is lovely! The view from the front lanai is beautiful by day and the stars were spectacular at night. The cool tradewinds made sleeping extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were out of this world -... more

Chaya's condo at Molokai Shores is beautiful. There is a kitchen with all the tools needed to cook a great dinner. The bed is amazingly comfortable. There is a nice television with cable, but who has time to watch it with such beautiful ocean views off the lanai. The pool is nice because the ocean swimming at the condo is... more

This was my first time at a bed and breakfast, but it was an eye- opener. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I will opt for unhosted stays in the future. The breakfasts were good, but unimaginative. The main dish each of the three days was a bake, with bread on the bottom, fruit on that, sauce on that. It... more

Wow! What a dream destination. We stayed in unit I-1 which had a beautiful ocean view from a wrap-around screened in porch (this is a corner unit). The unit was spacious, complete with cathedral ceilings and multiple glass doors that folded to give us a very open feel to the porch. It was tastefully decorated and included updated appliances. The... more

C334 unit with great view. Could have slept 8 people but sheets were not provided for the hideabed downstairs. Two upstairs loft beds too hot to sleep at night. Interior older. Unit linens clean but floors not...kitchen floor sticky and all carpets disgustingly soiled. Killed 4 large roach like bugs; don't know if they flew in or crawled in. Dishwasher... more

We had a wonderful experience at the Molokai Komohana. Tom and Karyl share a clean house, with great views in the middle of the island. We wanted to get away from the tourists and experience the real Hawaii. This met all our expectations! The privacy was fabulous and the secluded beach was beyond description. We stayed for 10 days. We did have a few visiting bugs (famous Hawaiian flying cock roaches) but there were not many and easily manageable. We saw geckos on the windows... more

We spent 9 days in Molokai at Wavecrest A-305. The unit was newly remodeled, immaculate and really well equipped. It has a great oceanfront view from the lanai, well maintained oceanview pool area with two gas grills, and a large expanse of lawn overlooking the ocean. There is no swimming beach at the property, but a nice beach about 7... more

Wavecrest A-112 hosted by Toby French was a unforgettable experience. The condo was comfortable and very well placed on the Island of Molokai for a relaxing vacation. From the lanai we viewed many birds, coconut trees, sunsets, sunrises, and breeching Humpback whales. As we came from Alaska during the winter season, this trip was a delightful respite from the cold... more

My husband and I stayed at John and Deb Attaway's condo at Wavecrest to celebrate Glen's birthday, the fourth of July, and get some much needed R & R. What a wonderful place it is! My husband and I arrived late due to a late ferry from Maui and getting our rental car. At first I was worried when I noticed the closed front desk, but I walked back to the bar where Hans (night manager) greeted me and checked us in. After we settled into our rooms, although late (10pm bar closed 10:30) my... more
