Plan on a few hours of being on your feet. There isn't any food or drink allowed inside so be ready for that. Many exhibits are not for young people or weak constitutions. There is plenty of time to stand, when you see a movie getting over get ready to make a dash for the seats. This way your feet... more

I was very INTERESTED in visiting this as we've been to Dachau, but I was concerned to take my kiddos. Let me say to you - we spent 5 hours there and it was very child appropriate. The Daniels Story Exhibit was their favorite. We even chose to take our 8 and 11 year old into the permanent exhibit which... more

I had put off going to the holocaust musuem for several years, We live in the DC area so getting there would not be a problem. I was not sure that the emotional aspects of the musuem would be something I could handle. We had lived in Germany 15 years ago, not far from Dachau, however after visiting the holocaust... more

We arrived about 45 minutes before our ticketed time of 4 P.M. First up was a long security line of almost 15 minutes just to get into the building. Next, we checked out the Daniel's Story exhibition. This is geared toward children and if you are visiting with young ones, definitely check it out. Since we didn't have any with... more

This was one of the finest musuems I've ever seen. My wife and I visited it and it was a great experience. The display on the rise and reign of the Nazis is, at times, overwhelming. Walking through the train car with actual baggage strewn along side of it is a feeling that I had a difficult time shaking. If... more

This is a very moving museum that is a must see for anyone traveling to Washington D.C. It's a self-guided tour that allows you to really connect with those affected by the Holocaust. The stories, photos, and personal affects really create a moving memory for those who tour this museum. I wouldn't recommend it for very young children because there... more

This past summer we took our 10 year old son to see "Daniel's Story" which of course is all that is recommended for children. My son found the story interesting and asks a lot of questions about "Daniel" was an actual boy, how many children this affected, etc. It opened his eyes to how fortunate he is that we don't... more

I can't imagine anyone giving this less than 5 stars. This was the most moving museum I have ever been to. The designers are pure genius. You must arrive early to secure tickets or otherwise pay a small fee online to reserve some, which I did. The only thing i would change is that the museum is extremely crowded, especially... more

This was one of the most moving museums I have ever visited. Spent about 2 1/2 hours there but could have easily spent more, time permitting. Spent half the time with tears in my ears and couldn't believe how emotional the whole experience was. It was well worth the visit, but be prepared for the raw and real facts and... more
