This is a modest, state owned museum featuring treasures, coins and artifacts salvaged from the wrecks of 5 Spanish galleons which sunk in a hurricane nearby in 1715. This is how Florida's central, Atlantic coast got it's nickname "The Treasure Coast". Entry is a whopping $1 and the enthusiastic volunteer who gave a short tour added alot to the experience.... more
This museum is 15 miles North on route A1A. Artifats of the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet are on display. Millions of dollars of gold have been recovered from this site. Sabastan Inlet State Park is nearby. more
