Coming from someone who finds the traditional presidential museum a bit boring after an hour or so, this is a "must-see" if you are in the area. Our kids are 5th and 7th grade and were actively engaged throughout our four hour visit. Not much more I can add to the other posts here... more

This is a great museum for your 4th grader and up. The special effects throughout the museum and the shows are awesome! Stay is Springfield and also take in the homestead and tomb. more

I don't know that I have much to add to the great posts here already. We were just here on May 3, '08. We did a 3 day Springfield vacation. Our children had Fri off so it was a nice time to do a long week-end. Weather was pretty decent and not too crowded yet. We stayed at the nearby... more

The recently opened Lincoln Museum in Springfield is a must see for anyone lucky enough to be in the area. Very user friendly and all on one floor it is easy accessible for everyone in the family. We went on a day when it was relatively quiet which made it more enjoyable for us but when we asked we were... more

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum, as did my 11 and 13 year old daughters. The films are informative and entertaining. The exhibits are phenomenal-especially the part that basically takes you through Lincoln's tenure in the White House. The four minute progressive map of the Civil War is powerful and humbling. The entire museum is a subtle yet effective history lesson... more

Wow, this museum is not to be missed! I am a Lincoln fan but I think anyone would find this museum great. I would see the Ghosts film first, then go through the old log cabin to that exhibit. Next I would watch the other movie and lastly go through the white house to the other exhibit. Of course stop... more

I agree with all of the other 5-star posts. This is not to be missed, even if you are not a Lincoln fanatic! It's a great museum and you walk away with a deeper understanding of this man, his accomplishments, and also his challenges and heartache. more

This was the last stop on our Abecation! We thought we'd only stay an hour...mostly because we'd not read anything about it and we wanted to get on the road sooner than later. Well, 1 hour turned into almost 4 hours! It was an amazing museum! Such a great mixture of history and technology! Great layout and exhibits! Amazing! more

We were priviledged to tour the museum on Friday, October 12, 2007. Being a history major from the University of Alabama, this tour into the past was beyond all of my expectations. I have a special interest in the War Between the States as my Great, Great Grandfather served with the 37th Mississippi Infantry C.S.A. From those days we have... more

Visited the museum in August and found that one of the best museums I have ever visited. It was opened in 2005 and has all modern technology used for the enjoyment of visitors. Allow at least four hours to go through various sections of the museum. One can easily spend the full day reading the literature and watching documentary films.... more
