Hot hot hot. Bring your sunscreen. Bit of a drive from town but well worth it. Spent about 2 hours there... more
I went to this place on May 5th with my family. I agree with other traveler, you should start early (open at 7.30am). The walk around this place should take about 4-5 hours. At 11am, the sun start burns your skin. My 6 mos baby wouldn't stop cry when this was happening. Anyway, there are cave with stalactite and rocks... more
This museum is a little bit of everything -- part aviary, part zoo, part botanical gardens, and part hiking trail. A couple restaurants and cafe's on premises. A wonderful hummingbird exibit. Took about 4 hours to visit, including watching a Harris Hawk release. It wasn't available when I visited, but those who visit June - August can tour the park... more

The Adventures of the Two Wise Ones www.twowiseones.com The Two Wise Ones awoke first thing Thursday morning. They had to be at the Sonoran Desert Museum the minute it opened as the program “Walk With a Keeper” was first come first served. The cost was $25 on top of the $9.50 admission fee. But it was worth every single penny!... more
This is a good place to start your experience in the Sonoran Desert. It is more a zoo than a museum. Plan to spent 2-3 hours here most of it outside. By the time you leave, you will know what you need to know about the desert you are in and you will appreciate what you will see as you... more
