we have just returned from a very relaxing weekend break at this hotel, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting of the hotel is lovely. Our room in the SchoolMaster's house was very clean and the bathroom size above average. The evening meal as other travellers have commented was very good, but the portions were not particularly very big. For... more

I spent a lot of time trying to find accomodation in the Shrewsbury area prior to my visit. All the hotels I looked at looked dated and dull. Although some claim to have invested huge amounts of money including the Albrighton, where they spent in remains a mystery to me. The hotel reminds me of a residential care home for... more

Just got back from the Mercure Albrighton Hall after a 4 night stay and cannot believe what recent posters have reported. Maybe the hotel has just had a complete derenovation but I found it average at best and mostly very poor. A stay at a Travelodge would have been more satisfactory. Supper in the restaurant, the Oak Room, is like... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in August (midweek) and paid £208 in total which included breakfast and dinner on one night. We were very much impressed with this hotel from the moment we arrived. The staff were very professional and courteous at all times. Our room rate included dinner in the restaurant. This dinner was probably... more

This is a very impressive looking building as you drive up to it.We arrived in the middle of a wedding reception and you can see why it would be popular for that. The interior decoration seemed very smart and check in was prompt and courteous. In fact it is something of a novelty in this country nowadays to stay at any establishment... more

I booked a 2 night stay for 2 with dinner on one night for less than £170 which I thought was great value. The service from all the staff was very good. The room (twin) was spacious, well equipped with a big modern bathroom. The 3 course meal in the main restaurant was excellent and we also ate in the... more

I booked the hotel through laterooms.com and thought I got a good deal of £69 per night for a four star hotel. This was a room only deal. I booked for a two night stay and included in the price was the use of the swimming pool, steam room etc. at the hotel's spa and health club. First impressions of... more

Recently stayed here for a wedding reception being held at the hotel. Paid £69 for room only, Check-in wasn't guaranteed until 3pm but we turned up early on the off chance of getting in early - this didnt happen and the recption staff were extremely unhelpful. Apparently according to the desk, when you book you're assigned a specific room and... more

We stayed at the hotel and had a very pleasant weekend on a B&B with one dinner included in the price. The room was large and spacious (it was just a shame that the TV remote control did not work (we reported it twice but it was not changed)) and the bathroom just needed some basic maintanance (there was a... more

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a friends wedding.... From the outside the hotel looks lovely and grand... However our stay was beset with problems... Room service took ages to appear and when it did finally arrive it was totally wrong, we then sent it back and it did not reappear for an hour.... then we left they tried... more
