The hotel is in an impresive setting, lovely old house, comfortable room (though small if in the attic - watch your head!)very friendly and helpful staff. Nice hotel with very good food. We bought a Valentines two night package which was very reasonibly priced. The hotel has a nice ambience and the staff are very friendly. We stayed in a Club room which was very small and a little disappointing but very clean. The hotel itself looks a little shabby inside and could do with refurbishment... more

Stayed last year and enjoyed it - lovely historic house. We had a room in the roof (old servants quarters I suspect !) which was cosy (i.e. not the biggest!) but there were obviously some great bedrooms on the first floor although I suspect there may be a premium for these. Baby made welcome at breakfast and hotel supplied nice... more

I was very impressed they managed to fit us in on a Bank Holiday... The poached eggs were good, the showers excellent. Service friendly, room rate reasonable, restaurant was overpriced. The house is an archictectural gem down a lovely mile long drive, well proportioned rooms, good views... I don't mind a bit of faded elegance but elements of this place... more
