If you know going into Cuba that luxury is really not part of the agenda...then you will be fine. Cuba is amazing on so many levels, like starting with the people. The Presidente had the best staff. They were so friendly and helpful. When they found out we were American from New york, our stock went up with them. The... more

We stayed in Hotel Presidente for one night in January, 2008. We ended up there because when we arrived at our original hotel, Los Frailes, they didn't have a room for us. Los Frailes paid for our stay and the cab ride over to Hotel Presidente. Presidente is in New Havana, and the town doesn't have any of the charm... more

this supposedly four star hotel has a lot of handicaps: quite distant from the city center, although some hotels can be even farther (playa district), an old building which obviously has not been rehabilitated (one elevator only is working, everything seems out of age), food served at the buffet restaurant is edible ,but not good.We tried the other hotel restaurant... more

We stayed in this hotel in MAY 2007. I am a little late writing the review. Reception Staff: Maintained a consistent high level of rudeness that is difficult to ignore. Reception: It is quaint and comfortable, but watching the staff drive unsuspecting guests crazy is just irritating. Rooms: We had 2 as the first one was flooded on our first... more

We arrived on the evening of Friday 25th May 2007. We placed all our valuables, wallets and cash in the room safe, which was operated by a swipe card. On the following Sunday, we noticed that a credit card and £60 was missing and immediatley reported it to reception. The manager organised a print out of entires into the room... more

I choose this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews but was very disappointed in this place. When we arrived after a long journey from Washington DC after midnight we only wanted to sleep. This was however almost impossible since the sheets and pillows were absolutely disguisting. It smelled like persons who have not washed themselves for 3 months. Welcome to... more

We rerently returned from El Presidente Hotel and although we had a thoroughly good time, the hotel could have been better. Due to delays on the flight we arrived at the hotel very late in the evening and were given our keys and sent to our rooms, we later discovered that late arrivals were given a welcoming drink plus a... more

We have recently returned from Havana. The Hotel Presidente is a 10 minute taxi ride from Old Havana - which is likely the area that you will want to be in during the day/evening. although the immediate area around the hotel is OK, there were no restaurants that we could find - the restauarnt in the hotel is merely avarage.... more

We were delayed due to problems with Air France, and arrived late and without luggage. The Hotel Presidente was welcoming, friendly and clean, and had all the necessary toiletry requirements in the huge bathroom. Breakfast was basic but good, and the lounge area was comfy and well air-conditioned.The bedroom was really relaxing; plenty of space to move around, and room... more

We stayed at the Hotel Presidente for a week, and loved it. It rained for most of the week, but hey, we were on our honeymoon, so it really didn't matter. We sat on the wrap-around balcony and were totally sheltered by the rain. We went to the pool bar and stayed out of the rain there too. There was... more
