Early morning check-in (5AM) was fast and efficient. Breaskfast was a pleasure (except I never did master the coffee machine - my mistake) with a wide variety of dishes, and a cook to prepare omlets, eggs and pancakes. On day three of a seven day stay, there was no water in the hotel, couldn't shower until after 7PM, workers up... more
A fairly anonymous "business" hotel. Not much of a Cuban feel (compared to the other hotels we stayed in). A couple of bars (lobby and roof), a buffet restaurant and a reasonable pool. Service was OK but not particularly friendly. Rooms OK, reasonable size and clean, and the bath even had a plug. Air conditioning was on its last legs... more
While some distance from all the action, it is a pleasant, clean and comfortable hotel with every amenity you could ask for. There is a grocery store within walking distance and the surronding neigbourhood is very pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is great and the workout facilities are excellent. The rooms are luxurious by Cuban standards... more
Hotel Panorama, Miramar, Havana, Cuba, March 1,2,3, 2007. The Panorama has all the unlovely external features of 1970s ‘glass-slab’ archictecture, and is in an equally unlovely location some distance (a few kilometres) from the delights of Old Havana. Nevertheless, for the three nights we stayed here (prior to a tour of the country) it was comfortable enough and reasonably serviced.... more
Truly an island of European culture on the island of Cuba. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was professional, but...the view...ehh...if was something I would never want to see again. Ruins of old buildings and deserted beach. And never disappearing feeling of "Mr. Castro watching over you". more
We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is of modern appearance, with lots of blue reflective glass. The atrium of the hotel extends to the full height if this hotel and the lifts up the atrium are fast, and efficient, but sometimes the hotel has an influx of a large group of guests, and this may lead to delays.... more
This is far from being an awful hotel which some reviewers may have suggested - The rooms are large and everything works, the breakfast is pretty good, there was never any wait for service at the reception, the pools (and surrounding areas) were above average and clean, the hotel bus ($5 per person per day) was late once but was... more
This hotel is not worth its 4 star rating, the rooms were clean, but the service was terrible, very unfriendly. It is in Miramar not Havana, we had to pay 10cuc in and back again each day! The shuttle bus that ran from the hotel didnt turn up to pick us up and left us stranded in havana, other guests... more
We arrived at the Panorama with no expectations as our stay was booked at the last minute by a Cuban Agent to give us extra time in Havana. The hotel was very business orientated without the service level one would expect - we stood at reception for a good 10-15 minutes each time we wanted something. On the whole the... more
