My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. This was our ninth visit to Cuba and was the best yet. I booked this hotel based on the reviews provided on this website. For those that posted the more negative reviews, I have to question what they are looking for in a Caribbean vacation?! Beach: Beautiful!... more

Booked with Virgin holidays. Flew out on Prem Economy on the upper deck from LGW. Would highly recommend this if you are over 5ft 8ins. Booked the V room for a little treat at LGW. Arrived in Havana at about 2.30pm but it took ages to get to the hotel as the roads are really poor and the coach driver... more

It is my and my families 5th time in Cuba and 2nd in Varadero and this hotel rocks!!! Beach-- is lovely but nothing extra special, like everywhere else in Cuba. white-yellow sand, very clean, and the ocean is clear without stones. Entertainment—the actual show at night (around 0.20 pm is mostly dancing which is fun for the first couple night... more

We came to the Sol Palmeras 2 years ago and we thought it fantastic then, so much so we went back again from 9th-23rd october this year. It was extremely busy due to people being moved here because of Hurricaine Ike damaging other cities and towns. This said, i think the staff all over the hotel were very able and... more

We returned to this hotel on the 9th to 23rd Oct 08, it was not as good as in 2006. I think the main reason for it not being as good was that it was too busy, alot of guests had been transferred to this hotel as the hurricane from a few weeks previous, had caused damage to other resorts,... more

We stayed at the Sol Palmeras Hotel from 6th - 20th Oct 2008. We were due to stay in Guardalavaca but were moved due to the Hurricane. I am so glad we were moved to Sol Palmeras as we had the most amazing holiday. There is two accomodation types in this hotel, rooms in the main building and bungalows. We... more

We spent two weeks at the Sol Palmeras and had a great time. Taking the hotel’s buildings to star with, they are very much what you would expect of a late 1980’s Spanish hotel, both in style furnishings, and in its state of repair. It’s a bit dated, and in some places if little bit tired, but generally well kept.... more
