We live in Havana since two months and this was our first trip to Varadero. Check-in was quick and professional. We had a standard ocean-view room in the main building on the 3rd floor and had a beautiful view of Mansion Xanadú as a bonus. The beach is wide enough to have a good combination of shade and sun. Except... more

where do i start? this hotel has little or no carribean feeling it is more like the hilton on the beach. the room was 100% and the beds comfortable the place was spotless and the indoor lobby was huge with a piano bar not my idea of a holliday resort but still nice and relaxing.the beach and pools were fine... more

Let me preface with we are not golfers, and we were looking for a beach getaway. What we got was primarily a golf resort with a small but nice beach. I will skip over the flight and customs nightmare as it was not directly related to hotel but it did certainly color how we felt starting the 2 week holiday.... more

Flight was with Sunwing Travel – everything was good, staff were very pleasant and helpful no complaints other than I would not get a flight so late in the evening as it spoils The arrival and tires you out for your first full day. We arrived at the hotel at 2 am – which is ridiculous, bus picked everyone from... more

My husband and I stayed at Melia Las Americas for seven days and we really enjoyed our stay. I heard many negative comments about the food beforehand but honestly, the food was great. The fruit was sometimes under-ripe, but aside from that, no complaints. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Plus, there was a variety of other types of food...pizza,... more

I was very nervous about going to Cuba after reading some of the reviews, but have to say that some people complain about NOTHING. The hotel was amazing, we were treated brilliantly by all staff (but the staff in the lobby bar were sometimes workshy) however waiters in the buffet excelled themselves, serving us, and makign us comfortable. The maid... more

I was staying there for only two nights with friends on my recent Caribean and Central America trip. The location of the hotel is great, it has a nice beach with enough chairs, a nice pool, poolbar, different restaurants, a club, a theatre, a bistro etc. Everything you would expect from a five star all inclusive resort in the Caribean.... more

Given some of the comments and reviews, I left really not expecting much from this hotel. Having just returned I am sure people must travel to another planet or dimension as although not perfect, this hotel was a fabulous base to our holiday. On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised, check in was quick and stress free and the view... more
