Great hotel even if a bit old. Great for someone that loves to be on hi floors. The beach is great, at night and day, and the pool is nice. You can rent motorcycles to go to the near village which is great fun. Dont miss the excursion to Havana. more

We stayed in Melia Varadero for 4 days in Oct 2008. It was the best hotel ever! Beautiful scenario, great people, amazing beach, fantastic pool, very nice rooms... I could go on and on. After spending 3 days in the Melia, Havana, it was great to come to the Melia Varadero and not have to pay for anything - except the inevitable tips of course. Very good hotel. Great food in all restaurants. The pool is small. All workers are very helpful and pleasant. Even people from the travel agency there (Travelplan or Soltour) was there every time. Many activities... The night sows were fantastic. more

This place is a total low class dump and I am amazed at the previous positive reviews. First of all the food is terrible. Vegetables are frozen, meat is tough and overcooked, and everything is just unpleasant tasting.
