Overall a good and gorgeous resort but would need improvement. Restaurant: Japenese was fun. Other restaurants are average and not 5* Often cold and no taste. Service: poor in the room even with 1$ tip per day. Always missing bottle of water, soft drink, coffee Beach: very disappointed that we cannot use the catamaran without instructor. I enjoy going alone... more

The reason we choose this hotel was the wonderful stay we had at the Paradisus Rio de Oro near Holguin 3 years ago (same company). We were booked in the Royal Area of the Hotel and while the Hotel grounds and amenities were above average, the service was deplorable for a 5 star Hotel. The suite upon arrival was relatively... more

We stayed at the Paradisus from 18th Oct this year after being moved (last minute) by First Choice, along with a plane load of very unhappy people (with First Choice's poor customer service). The hotel is classed as a 4*plus with First Choice but I have stayed in far better 3* hotels on other Caribbean islands. The grounds are kept... more

The resort itself is not that big, and was previously a Sandals left in disrepair, so I was pleased with the condition of the resort. The rooms are spacious and nice. The maid service was OK, nothing special, like towel swans or anything else for that matter; but the important thing is for the room to be cleaned daily, which... more

We were originally booked to go to the Paradisus Rio de Oro and were very disappointed when we needed to transfer after Ike. However, in general we ended up liking the Princesa del Mar very much. We spent the first three days in room 2210 (I think) which was very quiet, near the Racquet Club. Nice room, bathroom is not... more

My Husband Alf and I have just spent two wonderful weeks at this hotel. We were due to go to the Rio De Oro in Guadalavaca but due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ike we were sent here instead. The food was plentiful with lots of choices to be made. The room was lovely and kept very clean by our... more

I've just returned from 7-days in the Paradisus Princesa del Mar in Varadero, which was my 'diversion hotel' after hurricane 'Ike' hit the Paradisus Rio de Oro in Guardalavaca. First impressions were of a well organized and efficient hotel, with check-in taking but a matter of minutes, before being taking to the room (in the Guantanamo block) on a golf-buggy... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Princesa Del mar from Oct 19-26 2008. Upon arrival at the airport, I already used my trip advisor's tips as to count the money exchanged at the change booth, turns out the little lady had given herself a 20$Canadian tip on my side and the guy in the other booth had gone with... more

This was the first time to Cuba and the first time staying in a Paradisus hotel. My wife and I wanted to go to an adult only resort as this was to be our first time away from the kids and did not want any reminders. Pros: First impressions were great when we showed up around midnight. Checked through quickly... more

We spent ten days at this hotel and enjoyed it very much. Our room 2303 had a sea view, was spacious and comfortable. The daily servicing of the room was of a very high standard. The only mild disappointment we felt was that the televsion did not carry BBC World Service and we were reduced to watching CNN a very... more
