If you are not an adventurer, don't go there! No matter how inexpensive is it. Even Cubans are surprised to see foreigners in this motel and this is a place where Cubans spend their vacations. Food was all brown, the eating "cafeteria" was as basic as can get and DO NOT go to the bathroom there! We had the chance... more

We went with very low expectations as the price was unbelievable but after they actually let us on the plane I realized we hadn't been scammed LOL. The plane ride was not the best they had turbulence and didn't get coffee and ran out of food we wanted and the same on the way home. But the hotel was great... more

We have just returned from a week in Varadero. We were booked into the Villa La Mar for the week, but after arriving and seeing this horrible place we asked our tour rep to change hotels, however this took two days. The hotel was very dirty, our room had gum stuck to the wall above the bed (that wasn't our's).... more

HOLA or should I say "hello" I just returned from the Villa La Mar on Mar 29th 2008 and I must mention that I had a GREAT vacation. The hotel was okay, the food was not to my liking but they did have a 24 hr snack bar across the street which suited my needs. It served the basics such... more

When I bought my ticket (*only 423$ for an all-included week stay!), I wasn't expecting much. With all the negative reviews and this cheap price! In facts, this was one of my best trip ever. You have to know that I'm not a fan of 5-stars hotels and I don't think these people would appreciate Villa La Mar. I'm more... more

My wife and I stayed at Villa la Mar for one week and the staff was above average they were very friendly and helpful a pleasure to be around. The sites and sounds and entertainment were excellent! The hotel itself had a few problems: Food was terible, for what we paid for all inclusive it was not even close to worth... more

Our first time in Cuba. Varadero has the most beautiful shoreline, beach, and water we ever seen in our life! If it's gonna be your first time in Varadero, to make your stay (regardless of the no. of stars) will be pleasent: take spices, salad dressing with you! Food we find tasteless, bland if you like, and we went to... more

I just arrived home yesterday from this hotel. It is true that you get what you pay for. I paid $405.00 per person including taxes. The room wasn't that good, but you could manage. The food wans't very good, but they did come across with a couple very good meals. Saturday night included candle light with a traditional Cuban meal.... more

it was not as expected at all the bar closed at 945pm, make sure you tip they get angry. the first room was awful to be in and we asked to switch rooms. the staff are friendly. They cater mostly to cubans and no one speaks english. no disco, no entertainment only for cubans, the pool was dirty. The cappacino... more
