Outstanding, friendly and helpful service! From the check-in all the way until check-out, we were continually imressed by a high level of courteous staff. Rooms very comfortable - although TV not the greatest. Biggest impression by far was the warm and friendly way we were treated by all of the staff. Have experienced this level only a few times in... more

This hotel is excellent. It is in a good area right across from the beach. The lobby is beautiful and the floors are clean. If your Spanish skills are not very well they have a well trained staff and I would say 90% of the staff speaks good English and are willing to help you no matter what. You have... more

I spend six days here while attending a conference combined with a few days vacation. This was my first trip to the DR and I was a bit apprehensive about what I would find but I was very pleased with the hospitality and the accomodations at the the Melia. This is a vey good hotel. I found the check-in to... more

The hotel was nice, but i didn't like the fact that they told me over the phone that the breakfast buffett was free for me and my guest and when i check in they tell me that the buffett is buy one,get one free. Other than that i would like to stay there again... more

Since I got there until I left everything was excellent. I booked a Standard and got a Deluxe. The service was great and warm, nice room (8th floor) with pool and ocean view. Room was nicely furnished, and bathroom was very nice. Since I was by myself I had a drink at the Piano Bar and chilled out. Taxi's are... more

My company booked me into Melia for corporate business in Santo Domingo in February, 2007. Okay, I know this is not Puerta Plata or Punto Cano, where at least a lousy hotel can be offset by a nice beach. But, come on. First off, the service is fair, when you can get it. But it is given reluctantly at best.... more

Have stayed at that hotel many times for business. The staff is great, especially the "Executive Floor" staff. Even though rooms may not be "updated" they are well maintained. Centrally located, good security (prevents the next door neighbors ladies from strolling in), hotel food very good. Would also recommend for family stays. more

The rooms are terrible. Everything in the rooms looks old and runned down, and the service is the worst. When I checked into the room I placed my valuables and money in a safe which ended up getting jammed. In the time that it took them to open it, I missed the even I had traveled to DR for, and... more

Stayed here for a week and was very impressed with the service and the quality of the room. Sheets were soft, pillows were good, and it had unbeatable views of the sea. Would not recommend the restaurant as the quality wasn't fantastic, it was overpriced and there are many better (and cheaper) restaurants nearby. more

I stayed at the hotel with a local relative, then my relative left and i tried to register another guest and according to the manager, you can not substitute a person once is registered. but the case was that the person that i tried to register was a dark skinned dominican (blatino)and according to the manager and security, they "reserve... more
