Prior to this trip, Acapulco was among the last Mexican cities on my list to visit. I had heard the stories but I'm here to say that it's a wonderful place to visit. Much of that is due to our stay at the Grand Mayan Acapulco. I would never recommend someone to stay in the busy downtown area of Acapulco... more

My husband & I stayed at Grand Mayan May 25th- June 1st. It was our first time to Acapulco and we will be going back! We hired Sebastian Hernandez as our driver. We told him we liked more of the "local" scenes than "touristy" and he definitely set us up. He took us to a restaurant called Restaurant Esmirna Del... more

Just got back from a week at the Grand Mayan. June is the rainy season but we lucked out and had no rain at all. We arrived on June 13 and departed on the 20th. We had our original reservation at the Mayan Palace but after reading TA we decided to listen in on the time share presentation and get... more

we just spent a week at the Grand Mayan as a time share exchange through RCI and it was the most elegant complex we have ever stayed in. The ambiance was fantasic with water falls and ocean views everywhere. Of course is is in the center of mountains so the veiws were fantastic. our teen age granddaughters had an unblievable... more

My wife, grad school daughter, seven year old granddaughter, and I stayed at the Grand Mayan June 7-14, 2008 on an RCI exchange in a 1 BR. What a memorable time we had. I will mention only a few things that others have not discussed much. The weather was sunny except for June 9 when it rained all day. Sebastian... more

We stayed at the Grand Mayan in April 2008. It is a large mega resort. Well kept with large beautiful rooms. We traded in through RCI. If you are not an owner, you will not be given an ocean view. However you can ask for a corner room which gives you a view from the side of the building towards... more

I spent a week's vacation in Acapulco and stayed at the Grand Mayan. The resort was nice and very scenic. It was right on the beach, has a kilometer long pool, a nice mini water park, on-site restaurants, resort-sponsored activites, etc. Transportation From the Airport When you first arrive in Acapulco, unless you arranged shuttle service with your hotel or... more

We just returned from The Grand Mayan. My husband, our two boys and myself were looking for a relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got. We booked Robert Alacon for all of our driving needs around Acapulco and it was definately worth it. He was very friendly and professional. Our flight came in early and he wasnt' there... more

We exchanged into the Grand mayan via RCI. We were in a one BR. The timeshare presentation was aggressive. because of the HSI affiliation, we bought. We own 4 other properties and HSI will maximize those. We asked for an ocean view but you only get those if you own. When we bought, and asked to be moved, we then... more

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Mayan Acapulco from 5-25 thru 6-1-08 for the first time (sans kids) through an RCI exchange. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in Acapulco. The GM was an excellent resort, beautiful, spacious and extremely clean and grounds were gorgeous as well. We got a 1 bedroom suite on the 9th floor,... more
