We stayed at this place for two nights before getting into our timeshare resort. This is not a resort! It is a run down, old motel! We were booked in room 106 or 108 and it was in horrible location, very close to the exit to the pool area, so lots of traffic and noise that didn't not let up... more

We just came home yesterday from 2 weeks at the Fontan! WOW! What a total dissapointment this so called Resort is! Rooms- When we entered our room, it really had a bad odor to it, the a/c was so old that it literally was rattleing on the wall, there was no hairdryer and holes in the sheets! It was really... more

Spent the first week of March. Everything was clean, excepting a few little ants in the room (probably from the fresh flowers they scatter beautifully about). Friendly, but not over-the-top, staff... the location is amazing. Right where I'd want to be -- great beach location, nice pools - although a bit crowded. No specific complaints nor praises. It was worth... more

We stayed at this hotel Jan 24 to Feb 7th 2008. The hotel is an older highrise, but clean so no complaints there. ( we don't spend a lot of time in our room, so don't need plush accomadations) We did have some issues with a/c, not working day we got there, blew up 2nd week, but they did fix... more

My wife and I just returned from a LONG week at the Fontan. We have been to Mexico on eight different occasions over the past four years, the Fontan is the worst facility we have ever stayed at. 1st problem - The food at the Fontan is 95% Mexican, hardly any American style food to eat at any meal, we... more

My Best friend and I booked 1 wk all inclusive wk at the Fontan from Feb 21-28, 2008. I truely believe a vacation is what you make it and if you pick at every single detail - then ya your vacation probably won't be injoyable!! Keep in mind this is the oldest hotel on the strip and is rated a... more

We loved the area. Ixtapa and Zihua have a lot of great restaurants shopping and coffee. I felt very safe there and will probably go back next year. See the end of this message for advice about the area. We stayed at the Fontan from Feb 14-21. Booked through iTravel2000 and payed around $1000 taxes included. We usually stay at... more

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Fontan beach resort, I have to say that we had a very enjoyable vacation, we met some wonderful people from Mexico, Canada and the U.S. The Mexican family were there for a national holiday and it did get busy at times. The Mexican people are friendly,... more

This was our third visit to Ixtapa Mexico, but our first stay at the Fontan. This was the most miserable trip we have ever had, and we have only bad memories of the Fontan. Our initial room was in the older of the two towers. .It smelled very much of mold. (Like when you leave a tent out in the... more
