Four years ago we stayed at this resort that had just been taken over by Orient Express Hotels and had had a horrid experience. Yes, the Maroma is expensive but the service is definitely worth the money. This is the perfect place to get away to relax and not worry about a thing. The room and grounds a very well kept. The service was fantastic. The beach amazing. Food was ok. But overall not worth the money. Too expensive for what it is. Some of the accounting is made confusing to sneak extra $ on the conversion, taxes, and tips. Watch out for extras. You never see any bill untill the last day. the maroma hotel and spa is the most beautiful resort we have ever been to.
