Stayed 5 nights having booked for 6. We had a deluxe double bedded room with the sofa made up as an extra bed for my son. It had character and a view but was quite cramped. On the plus side this is a beautiful building in a beautiful location and the staff were friendly. The pool is OK, the gym... more

I got married at the Hall in December and this is a decision I will never regret. My huband and I and all our family and friends had an amazing weekend. Due to the professionalism and organisation of the Duty Managers Steven and Sally coupled with the friendly staff our weekend was enjoyable, memoriable and stress free. Our guests still... more

Over a week on from our daughter's wedding at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel - and still no one can think of any way in which the hotel and its staff could have improved on the day. Everything was five-star perfection - the food and wine were all first rate; the staff friendly and extremely competent; and Sally Horsepool, Master of... more

I would love to be able to write a glowing review on this hotel which we were told about by Nat West Black card client service whom we rang and told them that unexpectedly we were in the area meeting a friend and could they suggest anywhere for dinner. We drove over to the hotel on a quiet Monday night... more

Having spotted a great review of Armathwaite Hall in the MEN I booked straight away for my wedding anniversary weekend, crossing my fingers as I took the 2 and a half hour drive from Manchester up to Keswick. Upon arrival first impressions did not disappoint... the views overlooking the Bassenthwaite Lake are breathtaking. I immediately felt relaxed and a world... more

I stayed at Armathwaite horel in April on a business trip. It promised a lot from the internet pictures and the sweeping drive. My colleague and I arrived at 9.30pm after a long drive to be told that the dining room was closed and that we couldn't have a sandwich anywhere other than in our rooms... as the policy of... more

This hotel is beautiful and the scenery is fantastic. The only issue is the staff, they are so incredibly rude! I am under 30 and consider myself quite savvy when it comes to technology but when i was having issues turning on the plasma tv in the bathroom i was treated like I was incredibly dumb and was not worthy... more

I wanted somewhere special to take my wife to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary so searched the web and found what looked to be the perfect place ‘Armathwaite Hall Hotel’. The place looked fantastic from their web site but I thought I would check the reviews on ‘TripAdvisor’ like I usually do. The reviews seemed to be polarized into two... more

GREAT Hotel. I am a business development coach and, at times, I am asked "What is a GREAT company/organisation?" A simple example is - it's like an orchestra full of world class soloists, that when directed with an insightfull Leader, play in total harmony a memorable symphony.... That was my experience of Armathwaite HALL. Some guests comments from early years... more
