The whole premises are well maintained, inside and out. Some areas feel old and classical, some are modern and together it works well. Nice grounds with a golf course too. It’s mainly used as a conference venue with accommodation, and it feels like it's nearly all corporate clients there, in particular BMW has a training centre there. My bedroom was... more

I stayed for one night & was rather relieved that I wasn't staying longer. The rack rate for my room was £160 - I paid £45 through laterooms.com. If I had paid the rack rate the manager would have been the recipient of a long list of complaints. The oversheet was filthy. The regular sheets & pillowcases were ripped &... more

Poor signposting in the area made the hotel difficult to find. Because the beds were so soft we transferred from what looked like a very pleasant room to an ok room with very poor lighting (the helpful staff did warn us that the room was needing refurbishment). Main complaint was the food - the cooked breakfast items were very stodgy... more

Got this hotel cheap – and was very glad not to have paid much for it. No signage when we drove into the conference complex was an initial annoyance. Very long walk to room, and when we got there it smelled strongly of vomit. 2nd room was small, functional, with cheap furniture. Bedding was a grubby. No aircon, and the... more

We needed a stopover on the M4 nr Reading, and I spotted this place online for £45 b+b total, which I thought can't be bad! You have to drive down some fairly narrow roads to get there and the signposting could be better, we arrived at night and nearly drove past it. I really liked the 'little shopping street' design... more

I stayed for 3 nights on a special offer and I really got value for money. I would suggest that the outside directional signs could be clearer and it would have been helpful if I'd known beforehand whether I was staying at the Executive Centre or the Mansion House. My room at the Exec Centre was ground floor with french... more

This hotel and setting is brilliant. If you like golf there is an 18 hole course as well. The staff were helpful, the food was great and the room was spotless. Got a fantastic deal for a family of four, 3 nights £103.50p total, including buffet breakfast! Also all children under 12 eat free on at night. The indoor pool... more

I decided to take a one night break @ this hotel - despite reading rather varied reviews. I thought as it was cheap (£45.00 for 2 people B&B) it was worth trying! On arrival we went to the Mansion House to book in only to be told we booked in @ The Lodge. After booking in we were then sent... more

Having read the reviews here, I was unsure about what to expect- and a little nervous having booked 2 rooms for my family. On arriving at an impressive setting, I was surprised at the high quality ambience and upmarket feel to the hotel. I stayed at the main building and the rooms are smallish but well kitted out with a... more

I stayed here for three nights for a conference. It is set in a lovely park, just off the motorway, and, if you come by car very convenient for most places! The other reviewer is right about the signs to your rooms, but that's ok. The pool area is well kept, and the restaurant is lovely. The bar gets overwhelmed... more
