It is a shame that a hotel with such a splendid location right in the centre of bath is spoilt by such avoidable problems. I stayed at the hotel for three nights, in late October and early November. I was accomodated in what is known as the "Moore Room". It doesn't have a number, and appears to be a basement... more

The location of this hotel couldn't be better, right in the centre of Bath. The room itself was small but had everything I needed for a one night stay. Luckily I was down early for breakfast as this was slightly anarchic at the busiest time, around 9am, with guests left to find their own seats. There seemed to be barely enough... more

The only thing to recommend about this hotel is the location. The hotel itself is “tired” and in need of complete refurbishment. One morning I ordered a sausage sandwich for breakfast. A youth came out of the kitchen carrying a sandwich and after a tour of the restaurant, put it down in front of a woman at a neighbouring table.... more

I stayed over with my boyfriend in this hotel and was not impressed. No parking available, very dark room, staff had to change beds from 2 singles to one double when we got to our room (although we requested this in advance, when booking).. There wasn't much to choose from in the restaurant ('sorry no croissants or other pastry today'),... more

The title of the review was the comment of our friend on the first morning. The position of the hotel is excellent - one minute from the Abbey, Pump Rooms and Roman Baths - the staff were pleasant and helpful at all times, and breakfasts were OK ; but the hotel needs a complete refurbishment. Our experience in the hotel... more

This hotel is in a great location. One side overlooks the rolling hills of Bath, the other side you can see the Abbey out the windows. There are some great restaurants and the whole city is at your feet. Anywhere you need to walk to is only a couple of minutes walk, including the Roman Baths. I liked this hotel... more

Other hotels my company use were full so I was booked into the Abbey Hotel Close to the town centre but left my car at place of work and taxied in as there some form of parking charge. Check in was good but was taken to the room through the restaurant? I am sure there was another way to get... more

The hotel itself is ok , nothing fancy and you can do better elsewhere around Bath. However the food is nothing short of terrible. My partner ordered a chicken caesar salad - no bacon, no egg , no anchovie and contained the most rotten piece of lettuce I think I have ever come across. Stay at the hotel if you... more

I have just returned from staying at the Abbey, and for the price I think it was value for money. Superb location - in the centre of Bath, everythig is pretty much a short walk away. It is a 3 minute walk from the train station too. The service was very professional in the lounge for food, at brekfast (... more

On the plus side the hotel is centrally located, parking is nearby and the staff (mostly students) were friendly. But, for a Best Western, the decor is surprisingly shabby and the cooked breakfast was awful; cold wrinkly sausages and greasy bacon on a cold plate, yuk. The standard rooms were tiny so we upgraded for £25 a night to a... more
