Well I should have heeded the previous reviews - brusque and unfriendly reception by the manager, room stank of smoke with the toliet enclosed behind a small wall within the room - I assume they have building regs consent - no beans at breakfast (both mornings I stayed), no clean towels for which apologies were offered by the cleaning staff.... more

I stayed here over a weekend for a family party and was pleased with all aspects of the stay. The room was pleasant, the staff were friendly and helpful. Not too pricy and in a good location. Fantastic English Breakfast. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a traditional English B&B. more

Came here for a reunion as was a student at the uni and was very pleased to find a helpful and homely place to stay. There were quite a few of us and the staff made us feel very welcome.
