Do NOT stay at this hotel if you can't get a VERY cheap deal. If I had paid £19 on one of their special rates, I would have found the state of the hotel and service less surprising, but at full price you can stay elsewhere for a much better experience. The website states that the hotel can get noisy... more

I stayed at this hotel whilst attending a stag do in Newcastle and cost was the overriding factor in booking this hotel (not my choice but had to go with the flow on this one). On arrival at the hotel we found the small underground carpark basically full (partially due to some idiot in a porsche taking up 3 spaces!!!)... more

I had stayed in this hotel once before and it had been cheap, clean and a good experience however my last stay was anything but. The staff all a wee bit ruff probably due to the hotels East end location, walking distance to Byker. Firstly we were given the wrong number so ended up walking into somebody else’s room. Secondly... more

Stayed here for a weekend to explore Newcastle with my now Fiancee. Chose because it was central to everything. On the slim plus side, centrally located for Newcastle and a stone throw from the Tyne river and it's classic views plus secure car parking is located adjacent to the premises and good value when compared to nearby NCP car parks.... more

I arrived from Norway mid morning and took a taxi to the Travelodge.. I did not expect to check in (it was around 11:30 in the morning) but the Receptionist could not wait to tell me that check in time was 3pm and their policy was that they did not store luggage .. they refused to store my suitcase until... more

Just returned after spending 2 nights at this Travel Lodge - a Sunday and a Monday night. My main gripe with this hotel is security. The first night at 01.30 I was rudely awakened by a man hammering on the door of a room next to us demanding to be let in. This continued for an hour until he was... more

The location is excellent for this travel lodge 5 minutes walk from the quayside and 10 from the shops. A tesco express round the corner and a great pub just on the quayfront, The Slug & Lettuce great food. We arrived early afternoon and paid the extra £10 for early checkin to one room. (we had booked a twin &... more

Arrived at the hotel for a one night stop mid afternoon on Sunday. The place resembled a bomb site with the corridors stacked high empty glass and bottles of alcohol . Thank god we missed the Friday and Saturday nights. Even though the revellers had mostly gone home after the binge drinking on Newcastle quayside it was still noisey and... more

I stayed at this Travelodge on a Thursday night (21st February). It was easy to find (with my Sat-Nav!) and the Car-Park was underneath the Travelodge itself. Parking is £5 for overnight, which lasts until midday the following day :-) Check-in was quick and easy, and my room was on the top floor. Had an evening meal there in the... more
