Pros: Location--close to train station and city center Helpful host (though he was a little disappointed that we wanted scrambled eggs instead of fried) Excellent toast and breakfast Extremely Reasonable rates Fun breakfast-time introductions emceed by host Cons: Name (Why "The Salamander?") One room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes even though smoking is not allowed. Clearly this wasn't the host's... more

Due to circumstances entirely my own fault, we arrived at the Salamander Guest House at 6:55 PM, and we needed to be at the Courtyard Theatre before the 7:15 curtain. Pascal Dellin, the most energetic host one would want to have, dropped everything and within 3 minutes was driving us in his car to the theatre. We made it in... more

It was our first trip to the UK and our first stop after a long flight from the states. Many great things about this B&B including its proximity to the train station. Pascal was a fabulous host. Very knowlegdable about Stratford and the surrounding area. The beds in the room were so very comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and... more

The moment we arrived, we were given a very warm welcome by Anna, the hostess of this guest house. We were very pleased with the clean and spacious rooms. Pascal, the host made an even greater impression on us. He was friendly, informative and helped us immediately to feel at home. The breakfast was wonderful-the food was delicious. I wished... more

Pascal from the outset makes you welcome and points you in the right direction if you haven't visited Stratford before. He has a unique sense of humor. Introduces guests to each other at breakfast time. The Guest House is within easy walk of the centre (5mins) and Ann Hathaways cottage is a nice walk along a narrow tarmac pathway which opens... more

What a lovely property. Pascal made the difference in our stay. He was incredibly helpful from the beginning. He gave us a detailed map of the area with his recommendations for places to see and eat. We would have been lost without that. He also was helpful with little things like the internet and a hair dryer. And his cooked... more

A wonderful experience with a lovely host and rooms. Highly recommend this establishment for anyone who wants to get a full Stratford-upon-Avon experience. Host Pascal can share knowledge of all the activities, theatres, stores and sites in town, with cheerful humour. You won't miss a thing with his guidence. Come have a good time! more

Most enjoyable stay with my two ex R.A.F. friends for our annual get together. Ed organised the accomodation on-line and he made an inspired choice. Pascal is an excellent host. He has all sorts of useful information about the surrounding countryside and places of intrest at his finger tips and is more than willing to share with his guests. Breakfast... more

My mum and I stayed in Salamander Guest House for 4 nights and it's been the very best part of our 10day stay in England (London - Stratford-upon-Avon - Cambridge). Pascal gave us an extremely warm welcome and a big load of helpful information about Stratford-upon-Avon. He's extremely well equipped with info material both on the Shakespeare attraction as well... more

Great location - walking distance of everything in Straftord. Very good accomodations and a good breakfast. Pascal is very welcoming and is very helpful with suggestions and directions. Parking is available, but if you are from the US the driveway is very narrow and parking is tighter than anything I have ever experienced. But is is doable. You won't need... more
