the location is nice for the theaters but the hotel itself i would consider to be average. if you are not going to be spending time relaxing in a hotel this one would be fine. more

We spent two nights at Melita which we enjoyed. It is very close to the center of town within walking distance of the pedestrian bridge. We had a quad room way up at the top. The common areas were clean and well-lit; the rooms were very pleasant - our friends were on the floor below us and we saw their room as well; the ensuite bathrooms were large and light-filled. Stayed 2 nights in May 2004. The hotel is quite nice and very well appointed. The rooms are somewhat small, but beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. The owners are friendly, helpful, accomodating, and have a good sense of fun and humor. Great location just over the Avon footbridge. Reasonably priced and very good value for money. more

I have stayed at the Melita hotel many times on visits to Stratford - and the fact that I have returned so often says something about its quality. The Melita is comfortable, and excellently maintained; its owners, Pat and Russell, are welcoming and friendly. The breakfast, freshly cooked to order, is wonderful. And the price is reasonable.
