Being a frequent guest at the Westminster City Inn, I opted to spend a night here in March. The rate of £80 with breakfast was reasonable enough. I have to say I found this one a bit of a let down. I couldn't see much in the way of newspapers to pick up and read. The room was basic, and... more

As a regular at the CityInn in london (Westminster) it was a natural reaction to book into here when I had to stay in Birmingham - I was so disappointed. It is not a patch on it's Westminster counterpart - the rooms are very basic, the air conditioning is very loud, the menus are unbelievably limited (the only exception being... more

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Birmingham, look no further than this place. Set in the centre of Birmingham, you're never more than a few steps from the bars, cafes and shops. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff were friendly and the food and drink were great quality. Each room has an iMac television/pc/music system also. We... more

Having just spent the weekend at The City Inn Birmingham I can confirn it has the best staff I have ever expereinced. The property is clean and warm and the service was out of this world. A big pat on the back to the General Manager who has clearly led his team well. I will never stop recommending this place... more

My friend and I went to a 30 year course reunion at our old university (Aston) and wanted to stay in Birmingham to re-live some of our lost youth. We could have stayed in Uni accommodation but wanted to be nearer to the lively part of the city. Having attended the lectures and re-visited the student pubs (sadly the student's... more

Having visited Birmingham many years ago I was a bit dubious about being taken there on a surprise city-break . It was a revelation to see the transformation of the city into the vibrant buzing place it is now, with the City Inn at the heart of it. Staff where welcoming and freindly. None more so than John and Warran... more

We stayed in the City Inn, Birmingham for just one night, as we were travelling from London to Birkenhead (via Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool over a few days). The Hotel seems quite new, and is clean, modern, and stylish in an understated kind of way. The same applies to the rooms. Nice design and layout, all very neutral and easy... more

Stayed recently at this hotel and, although it was completely full, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Public areas are excellent, bedrooms were spotlessly clean and very well equipped, staff in all areas - reception, housekeeping, bar and restaurant were not only efficient but, also, very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend it. more

Don't agree too much with the "fabulous" write ups. Location: depends because "central" more or less always equates with "loud traffic noise". My room was quite small actually and for 165 Euros far too expensive compared to German hotels. I couldn't have breakfast because of an early flight: no offer of anything instead from the reception. So just average really. more
