We stayed in the Hudson hotel for 2 nights in August for close proximity to the book festival. On arrival we were met by an extremely snooty girl on reception. We asked if we could possibly have a quiet room - she said ours was 'quietish' in the kind of tone that was 'you should be grateful to have a... more

Perfect hotel if you are down to edinburgh for some shopping and nightlife. Me and my boyfriend just went down for the night. It was easy to find and bang in the centre of Edinburgh. We went shopping which was on our doorstep, with great pubs and resteraunts not fair away. The staff was really nice and helpful. great bar... more

Given the price that we paid for this hotel, the attractive photos on the well presented web site and the complimentary reviews that I read before travellingmore

Stayed here in early august during the Festival. The hotel is small but very clean. The staff are young which may explain their indifference to customers especially if you are middle aged or more senior. The night porter would say good night but the girls on the day shift seemed more fashion orientated and would be browsing the monitor rather... more

Stayed in the Hudson for two nights and while I am a fan of modern hotels the Hudson has some serious problems. Firstly, the bar and nightclub are great. The bar serves some amazing cocktails and the staff there were great. The problem is the hotel itself. Our room was very dark and because it is an old building the... more

We stayed at the Hudson Hotel for one night at the beginning of May in an Executive Room. The room was nice, relatively spacious although very dark. But the bed was big and comfy. The hotel is bang in the centre of town at the West End so location is ideal. In some ways it shouldn't describe itself as a... more

Just returned from HudsonHotel with a group of friends. Hotel is in a great location, handy for walking (or short taxi ride) to all attractions. Modern room but absolutely not worth £140 per night (PLUS breakfast). Lighting in room was very poor and not at all practical. No ventilation in the room (which was very warm) or the bathroom. Staff... more

Booked 2 nights for my girlfriend and I at the Hudson for a city break in April. Fantastic location; very close to the rather classy George Street and the ever popular Princes Street. The Old Town (Castle, etc) is only a brisk walk away. Also very close to one of the Airport's Express' bus stops in and out of the... more

We booked the "Executive double" for two nights on Easter weekend. It had a comfortable king-size bed, a sofa bed, coffee machine, small fruit baskets and chocolates. The bathroom had a large, modern tub. There was a large, flat-screen TV on the wall opposite the bed. We were very pleased with our stay at the Hudson. We even got a... more

Very nice hotel in the centre of town, attentive staff and nice decor. Room was smallish but well fitted out and pleasant. Due to being in town it was a little noisey from traffic, but what do you expect in town? Overall a nice place to stay if you want to be in the heart of town. more
