Hotel is located right on the plaza, and is best location downtown. Large, old glorious hotel. Rooms were large and bed was comfortable, which is not typical in this area of England. Starbucks right across the street, and drugstore half block away should you need something. A few nice restaurants nearby, and 3 blocks from Chinatown and one block from... more

Probably the best hotel in Manchester. My room was upgraded to a large two room suite so I'm a bit biased. I have stayed a couple of times there before and would be surprised if anyone didnt like this hotel. more

I stayed in this hotel for one night while on a business trip. I was extremely impressed by this hotel. I stayed in a double room, which, although small, was perfectly adequate and extremely well decorated in a style I would describe as modern chic! I was pleased to find out that the hotel gym opened at 6am which meant... more

My boyfriend and I spent a Saturday night at the Midland to celebrate our anniversary and I have to say we had a wonderful stay...but it could have been better. On arrival the girl at reception was very friendly and efficient at checking us in, and we opted for the concierge car parking service which was quick and easy. We... more

The Midland Hotel is not what it used to be. In previous decades, it was the first choice for celebrities and businessmen visiting Manchester. Now I assume they all head to the Rocco Forte Lowry hotel. We had planned to do the same, but thought we would give the Midland a chance last weekend to see if some of its... more

on arrival was pleased by the standard of hotel and the situatuation of room as requested a high floor room and had a good view of the city centre, but regreted that later, (dont have room 623). The noise from the room was terrible the room didnt seem to be properly double glazed and felt that there was a gap... more

I stayed last june for 3 nights at the Midland. It is very well located with bars, restaurants, shopping and many office towers within walking distance. I was there on a business trip and found the meeting rooms to be very acceptable. The lobby and bar area are very nice and have a lot of high-end flair. For my taste,... more

Up in Manchester for a business meeting. In order to get a breakfast rate I had to prepay - fine, except when I arrived whilst they did have my reservation there was no record of the payment. Gave them another card and checked in. Time will tell if I've been double charged. The entire place is non smoking - good... more

We booked to stay at the Midland following an early morning flight into Manchester Airport. We arrived early in the 11th of June safe in the knowledge that I had booked a room for the 11th. However, on arrival I was informed that I had no reservation until 6am the following morning. The receptionist then informed me that according to... more

Booked in on spec due to travel problems after work do. The foyer areas are spectacular and extremely classy with a decent pianist, makes staying here feel dead posh! Rooms clean, reasonable size, and freshly decorated if a little overly 'interiors magazines/retro 70s' for my tastes. Bathroom great, and luxurious bed linen (i rarely notice such things... high thread count... more
