This was a delightful, and unexpected, oasis en route from Provence to Caen. Having been caught in a fuel protest on the motorway and the air-con in the car packing up in temperatures of 30o plus, we needed a bed for the night. This place was immaculate and quiet. Nice woodland setting. Small hotel. After eating at other Ibis and Mecures, we looked elsewhere. We go with Ibis because you know what to expect. more

Generally I quite like the Ibis chain, I find them clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The room in this one was up to standard but the hotel didn't have a friendly feel to it. We stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Avallon last week towards the end of our holiday touring France. It was really planned as just a stop over between Burgundy and Brittany on our way home.
