We had 2 rooms with balconies, both had a terrific view of Berchtesgaden. We loved this place and would highly recommend this place to friends or family. This place would have been hard to find if we did not have the navigation system in our rental car. I would recommend to all who rent vehicles to spend the extra money... more

We chose this hotel based on the inside swimming pool and Spa on the premises, however upon arrival (in December) we found out that the pool is cold and not heated!!!! that ruined all the plans to have fun there with the kids. Great position overlooking the valley. Ask for a room with a valley view it is well worth it. The rooms are on the small side and simple but very clean with a good modern compact shower room. The Alpenhotel was just excellent. The staff was extremely friendly. Our room was clean and our view looked over the green alps. We ate dinner and breakfast in their dining room. The food/beer featured Bavarian specialties. There are hiking trails right outside the hotel so plan on spending some time enjoying the scenery. more

Thoroughly recommended hotel. Ensure you arrive in time to use the dining room for dinner, as the view is breathtaking and the food is excellent. We found the bar, after dinner, to be occupied by a deligthful American (mad!) family. Excellent stay. more
