The elevator was on the fritz. We failed to get all but one note left at the desk by friends in Madrid and that note (a telephone message) was indecipherable. We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in March, 2007. The rooms are dingy and seemed unclean. We were on a lower level and the street noise was unbearable. Hotel staff was not friendly or accomodating. The only good feature was the free internet. We would not stay here again or recommend it to others. more

Enjoyed our stay here. Location is excellent and very convenient for most of important sights, Royal Palace, Plaza mayor etc. Metro is really close and very efficient and cheap, but walking distances to places like the Prado, Thyssen Collection and Cortes not insurmountable. The best thing about staying here is the location. Just a few feet from the Royal Palace and also conveniently located by a metro station.
