My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights during our visit to Venice. The room was very clean and simple, and kept clean daily with fresh towels and bed linen. The hotel has just been refurbished so the bathroom was in very good condition. The only problems we had was no hot water for 2 days, and no air... more

We stayed here for 3 nights from May 14 through May 16 in room 202. The building is located a short walk from both the train and bus station of Venice, in a very quiet area. The room was smaller than other rooms we got on this trip but was very clean. There is no elevator. Breakfast was very basic.... more

We booked two rooms at the Albergo Marin based on a review by Rick Steves. We picked the hotel because it was located so close to the train station (only had to cross one bridge), which was really important to four women with large suitcases. I was really scared of what to expect as I had never stayed in a... more

We love the Marin, since its so close to the railway station and we had come in overnight from Munich. They stored our luggage until we returned in the pm and our entire stay was supported with information, a great breakfast, and ease of coming and going. I recommend it completely and know you'll like the atmosphere of a very... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of Feb. The location was good - only 5 mins walk from the bus station and across the canal from the train station. We were a short walk from the water bus (Vaporetti) and small cafes. We never had any problems with noise as the neighbourhood was fairly quiet.... more

Small rooms with no air-conditioning. Very close to the train station, it's just a short walk once over the bridge and easy to find. It looks alot worse from the outside, but the rooms are clean and quite pretty, the staff are very helpful and there's a great value breakfast (although the coffee is terrible- ask for a cappucino instead!). more

We just came back from two nights in Venice with no kids (!) and stayed at the Albergo Marin, which I had found on bestbookings.com. I wasn't expecting much- Venice was packed this past weekend and I was glad to get a room in our (cheaper) price range. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quite close to the... more

one of the Australian guests staying at the Marin camped out in the lobby because she said that watching the staff deal with their reservation mistakes and other problems (no clean towels, no locks on shared bath doors) was like watching Basil in Fawlty Towers. Our party of five was told on arrival that, without explanation, we "couldn't have" our... more

Ideally situated for our needs which was a night in Venice before a cruise. Close to P. Roma and adjacent to the station. Maximum two bridges to navigate. Good value for money, staff helpful and friendly, help with luggage given. Quiet room allocated on the second floor (208) with adequate bathroom and shower. Bathroom accessories and bedroom slippers provided, continental... more

This is the worst hotel we stayed at while travelling for a month in Europe. The rooms were very uncomfortable, with stained walls and sheets, and peeling wallpaper. Also, there was no elevator. The floor was so old and dirty that we actually were scared to walk barefoot on the floor (see pics). When we asked the unfriendly receptionist about... more
