We were a group of 7, spending 3 nights in Florence. We booked our stay on www.hostelworld.com and boy were we delighted to have chosen Hotel Sampaoli. The place is extremely pleasant, warm, cozy and the staff were simply fantastic. Clean, very secure and only 10 min walk to the Duomo and other major sites, surrounded by restaurants and small... more

I stayed for one night, but arrived at 7am on the overnight train from Nice. The staff e-mailed me in advance and were kind enough to let me leave bags, have a shower and change clothes, even although it was too early to check in. I had a single room, which had a reasonable bed (double) for a hostel, with... more

I stayed at Hotel Sampaoli for 5 nights during a conference in April 2008. The Hotel is conveniently located, easy walking distance from the station and all other major sights. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and provide all necessities for a short stay in the city. The major plus of this hotel, however, are the staff. Being family-run by... more

Booked 3 night stay through Hostelworld.com, We arrived by train from Rome and the hostel was no more than 5 mins away. We booked a private ensuite room and were shown into our room before having to check -in fully. Then we got to encounter one of the two best hotel staff we'd ever meet (we meet the other later)... more

I've stayed at a quite a few hostels throughout my travels, and I believe that Sampaoli ranks highly among them. I am a 32 y.o. male, stayed for 7 days. The key points of interest for Sampaoli are: + it's really close to the major attractions of Florence + the staff (esp. Leonardo & Ricardo) are extremely friendly and helpful.... more

On my second visit to this fine city I stayed with 2 friends at the Sampaoli. The staff was great, the room was clean, and the location was perfect. My only complaint would be the shared bathrooms, but even they are on par for Europe. Be warned if you have lots of luggage: NO ELEVATOR! On the positive side of... more

I was a 38 year old single woman traveling Italy solo. I was nervous about staying at hostels throughout my trip. I was afraid they would be loud and dirty, but I took a chance and I'm so glad I did! I stayed at Hotel Sampaoli for a total of 6 nights. My first night, I shared a room with... more

My friend and I stayed here from another friend's referral. We had an AMAZING time. Leonardo spoke fluent English and hilited the sights to see, restaurants to eat at, and other places to visit. He was very easy to talk to and took a personal interest in each traveler...making sure we all enjoyed our time in Florence and the neighboring... more

I was moving to Florence for the year and stayed at the Hotel Sampaoloi for the first 5 nights while looking for an apartment. I stayed in a single room (shared bath) which was extremely clean, had a sink, TV with BBC (for us non Italian speakers), wireless internet, a hair dryer, extra blankets and clean sheets/linens each day. It... more

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Sampaoli. The service was great and the staff so helpful, they treated you like family. Arriving with no guide books, they provided great recommendations and equiped us with a map. The Hotel is located near all the main touristy spots but also on a quiet street. Would definitely stay there again! more
