My son and I stayed a month in this hotel. The hotel is attractive, comfortable, perfectly located and with a super breakfast - and all for a good rate. But best of all were the people and how we were treated. Everytime we came in or out there was a smile for us - we felt like family. Apart from... more

A brilliant hotel in a gorgeous city. Excellent location, moderately priced, nicely decorated and well-kept old building with loads of charm. Huge and delicious breakfast too, in a beautiful vaulted room. Huge comfy beds, air conditioning and great hot showers. Internet service too, which is free after 8 pm. But the absolute best reasons to stay here: the roof terrace,... more

The Fortuna is a great choice in Perugia in the middle price range (my single room was 80 euros). Located in an old palace close to the plaza on a quiet side streat. The management was friendly and helpful. My room was small but very clean and comfortable with a large window that opened out to a terrace with a... more

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days while visiting our son who was going to school in Perugia for the semester. The location was perfect. Right off Corso Vannucci, the main pedestrian and shopping street. The staff was very polite and helpful. Desk staff spoke English and gave us excellent recommendations for meals when we needed them. The... more

Receiving good customer service when everything goes as planned is one thing, but you should also be able to expect good customer service when serious, unplanned events occur as well. Unfortunately, the pleasantness ended when we had to shorten our stay from our intended 4 days to 2. A family emergency arose and we had to check out 2 days... more

My husband and I just returned from 3 weeks in Italy together with another couple. I booked all hotels online, mostly through Venere. The Hotel Fortuna was a great find. The owner, Claudio Mencaroni was an ideal host. He guided us in through the medieval streets to the only available parking spot near the hotel and took care of all... more

I really enjoyed the 4 nights I stayed at the Hotel Fortuna in June 2006. Its perfectly located in the heart of Perugia, and easy to get to from the bus shuttle between the train station and Piazza. There are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance, and its easy to take a walking tour of this charming town. The room... more

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and didn't know what to expect, as the rooms (Economy) we booked are not advertised anywhere on the Internet. (I believe at the time, the best deal was through Venere.) Upon our arrival, I remember the hotel had: -an elevator -free Internet after 8 pm -breakfast was included with our rates (if... more

In July 2005, my family and I stayed at the Hotel Fortuna, Perugia, Italy. We had a very unpleasant experience due to a problem with the booking, which is accounted for below. We traveled around Italy for two weeks, where we had booked most of the hotel stays in advance, using Internet online bookings. In particular, we had booked two... more

We have just returned from a week at The Fortuna in Perugia and found this to be a delightful spot just off the busy main Piazza. The hotel itself is quiet although it may be wise to ask for a room facing the rear courtyard during the busy season. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, our room was spacious... more
