Certainly a comfortable hotel and well located. But hardly five star. The grandly named "Pulitzer Gym" is a tiny, hidden room with a few exercise machines (attached to mostly unworking televisions). The hotel seems to nickel-and-dime everything, including the amenities that are offered to Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum members. An unhelpful front-desk clerk kept insisting -- repeatedly -- that a... more

The Hotel's location is brilliant, and within walking distance of the rest of the city. The Moroccan door and bar staff likewise were helpful, polite and efficient. Bad news is that the Dutch (and/or European) staff on reception and management were lazy, rude, complacent and could not manage anything without conflict including the printing a bill when checking out. After... more

Excellent location in upmarket canalside area, yet only two minutes from the tram stop, and ten minutes' walk from the Dam. The clever linking of rows of traditional canalside houses into one hotel makes this more like a boutique property than a hotel owned by a multinational.. I can imagine that no two rooms could be the same. Certainly, mine... more

a member of the hotel housekeeping staff stole my laptop from my room. Obviously I did not have a great stay. The hotel knows who was in my room at the time the laptop was stolen but cannot do anything. It was a sony viao laptop more

What can you say? We had nothing to complain about, and only praise for the hotel, from the location, the front staff, our room, the food, the winding corridors and interestingly maze-like nature of the hallways and buildings. I can see how some elderly guests or handicapped guests might have challenges, but this place made my girlfriend and I so... more

Hugely disappointed. Reserved this hotel b/c it was a Starwood Luxury Collection. For part of the luxury collection, it offered little luxury. Very overpriced. Our room was the size of a walk-in closet basically. This is not surprising being in Europe but given what we paid we expected more. Furniture was old and looked beaten up. Bed was nothing special,... more

The Pulitzer is just a great hotel with a very convinient location, just a few walking minutes to Dam Square and directly on a canal. Although it is not a small hotel, it has so much charme and individuality, something I would expect in a small boutique hotel with just a few rooms. Due to its architecture (over 20 small... more

We stayed at the Pulitzer in Amsterdam for 3 nights from 9/20-23. It was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Our room was newly renovated and very quiet. The down bedding was so comfortable that it was difficult to get out of bed in the morning. The courtyards are charming, there is beautiful artwork in the common areas,... more

Slightly bemused by the mixed reviews - luckily I didn't check tripadviser before booking. My second visit, and both times I was pleased with the service and the room. I agree with comments about value - some of the rooms can be small for the money, and i did move rooms because of this, but it is a very old... more
