Close to bus lines, museums, and restaurants. Super breakfasts served in a lovely dining room. The staff was very helpful, and went out of their way to print out a list of recommended restaurants and directions to a small town we wanted to visit. They also helped with other information and advice. more

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Make a long story short, I was stuck in Amsterdam for a few nights and had to find a place to stay, so I just walked in the hotel and I was lucky to find a room with Hotel Aalders. The hotel is in a residential area of the city, but very... more

This was a wonderful small hotel in the heart of the Museum district. Public transportation was nearby making it a perfect location to visit to all of the sites in Amsterdam. Airport transportation was easily available and reliable. The hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful, as I was a solo female traveler. Breakfast, which was included in the room... more

The Hotel Aalders was an absolute gem in the heart of Amsterdam. I have been wanting to go to Amsterdam since I was a child, and my husband and I have just returned. I found this hotel on Tripadvisor.com by looking at the other guest reviews. It was way more than we ever expected! The staff was so very helpful,... more

Having read some of the other reviews on mid-priced Amsterdam hotels - and finding out that both of the exclusively "gay" options had horrible reviews, I selected Hotel Aalders because it was gay-friendly and had pretty good reviews on this site. I was not disappointed. Here's the highlights: Yes, the rooms are small. If you are visiting Amsterdam and are... more

I stayed at the Hotel Aalders for ten days recently and believe that I couldn't have made a better choice. For a city as busy and alive as Amsterdam, it was a real bonus to find a friendly hotel in such a quiet location. As I live in a very quiet rural area, this was really important to me. The... more

We stayed in a small double room which was a 109 euros per night. It was compact but perfectly adequate with an ensuite bathroom. There are steep stairs but there is a small lift. The hotel reception is staffed 24 hours so you can leave your key at the desk and not have to carry it around. Breakfast is taken... more

This hotel is in an excellent quiet location near the Van Gogh museum, a row behind designer shops and 2 minutes walk from the tram into town, but for the price it is a little run down. The room we had was large with a balcony but the decor a bit scruffy. We asked for a quiet room and although... more
