Geeta & Al, Green Bay WI, USA We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Prinsenhof in room 1. We had researched their website and TripAdvisor so were well aware of the steep stairs and what to expect. It sounds like we got the largest room, and were luckily on the first floor. You must carry your bags up... more

We were greeted by the staff flicking the door open via a piece of rope from the second floor and barking down at us. It became apparent why when we started scaling the stairs. It seems the climb is even too aggressive for the staff to be bothered making. They should try doing it with a suitcase! We were on... more

We had the good fortune to stay at Seven Bridges in 2001 before that well-deserved location really took off, The Prinsenhof doesn't pretend to deliver on the equisitely furnished rooms that have made 7 Bridges famous, but it is equal in location and canal views. It also is several dozen euros cheaper per night. I'd stay at Prinsenhof again for... more

I stayed here for a couple of nights with a friend. The location is good, in a quiet area overlooking Prinsengracht canal. I did not use any public transport during my stay because everything is within walking distance. But there is a tram stop 25 metres from the quest house. The room was basic, but that is what I expected.... more

This little hotel is perfect for an overnight or weekend stay or if you are on a budget. The rooms tend to be small, but they are clean and the beds are comfortable. One star hotels do not have phone in the room, TV, hair dryers, etc. They are meant to be clean and (hopefully) safe accomodations for the budget... more

Very nice, of course it was small but the bed was super comfy! Very close to the public transportation stop. There was (one of the many) a beautiful canal right outside the hotel and there were many quick, inexpensive and tasty dining options nearby. more

The Hotel has a very informative website, but neglected to mention the heavy cigarette smoke permeating the lobby and our room. Otherwise a decent budget hotel. However, I cannot say we would stay there again as there was no ventilation in the office, lobby and breakfast room so the lingering cigarette smoke really bothered us. We stayed in room #9... more

Just back from 3 nights' stay in this wonderful hotel which is exactly as described on its website. Clean, attractive and comfortable accommodation. Reasonably priced. Good breakfast in charming room. Friendly staff. Well located on a canal and near a tram stop. We had the attic room with ensuite which was large, well furnished and equipped.Beds extremely comfortable and lovely... more

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend and were both very impressed with this hotel. We had a huge en-suite room at the front of the hotel with two large windows overlooking the canal - great in any hotel but especially good for only €89 a night! The hotel is located in a lovely part of Amsterdam. Most... more

I stayed at Hotel Prinsenhof for two nights in July. I made reservations directly with the property (I have this thing about contacting properties directly, out of fear of them losing my reservation) and everything was GREAT! At first, I made the mistake of taking the wrong tram to the wrong Prinsengraht stop - several trams have this stop name... more
