This was my first time in Amsterdam but I'd already heard that at a budget hotel I should expect a tiny room, tiny bathroom, tiny shower, uncomfortable bed, etc. So I was ready for all of that (and got it).... but sadly I was ready for much more after reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor. But I crossed my fingers... more

The Questin Hotel was the worst experience we had in Europe. We saw a rat (not a mouse) in our room. The hotel was totally dirty an the attention was terrible. Rooms were a disaster. Very small, unclean and uncorfortable. Too Expensive for getting that awful services. more

This hotel is in a central location and is cheaply priced but you get what you pay for. Don't expect any hospitality or helpfulness from the staff. We pre- booked four nights through the internet. They were over booked when we arrived and we had to change rooms three times and check out/check in each time. The staff were cold... more

i stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights in august 2008. the location couldn't be better... right on the leidseplein canal, only minutes from the trams/buses, tonnes of shopping, bars, and restaurants, and vondelpark. you can even rent canal bikes right outside the hotel! the biggest problems we had with the hotel were the construction going on outside our... more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the end of september 2008. The location of the hotel is good, close to Leidsplein but this hotel is the worst hotel I have ever been to. The room is tiny and very dirty. They promised a canal view but the single window in the room could not be opened and... more

I've stayed in this hotel twice, once in 2005 & once in 2006. Both times I found the hotel to be clean and with everything that you need for a short stay. There is a lift at the property which is a good advantage over other hotels in the city. The location is great, with easy tram access to Centraal... more

Where to begin ... we were a party of 6. One double (for two), one twin and one double for a single person (someone else had already booked themselves in as they were on a different flight). Our room had pillows covered in - I hope - sweat stains. A broken pane in the wet-room/shower/toilet, a huge crack in the... more

Ok, so it's an old hotel, rooms, are reasonably clean (I could walk around the room in my bare feet) which says alot. There are no extras such as safety deposit boxes, you get one towel which is replaced every two days (another towel would be helpful as the bathroom is a wet room so water from the shower gets... more

Location - Excellent, just round the corner from main areas. Hotel - Clean, plain, old. Room - Comfy bed, Wardrobe with 2 hangers inside, TV with loads of channels, we even watched Eastenders one night. Window view was of a building site at the back end of the hotel (not the hotels fault), we stayed in room 406. Service -... more

We just came back from our trip to Amsterdam, where we stayed at "The Quentin" for three nights. Having read the reviews here I really was a little bit scared what would be awaiting us. We had a double room on the 4th floor. It was - as we were expecting looking at the prize of the hotel room -... more
