We had a nice time. Location can not be better, free internet is nice to have. Don't know much about dorms, but private rooms were excellent. Recommended!! more

I stayed in Aivengo Youth Hostel by myself for 4 nights in a big female dorm that was actually in another building next to the main hostel. You had to climb up the narrow staircase to the top floor. A group of 10 of us stayed in the private rooms (4, 4 and 2) which resulted in us staying in a seperate building from the main hostel which we had all to ourselves. The 2005 "Europe on a Shoestring" call this hostel something else, but it's the same address, presumably under new management. In the middle of summer, most hostels in Amsterdam fill up quickly, with some people booking weeks at a time.
