I called this hotel and made a reservation for a double room 3 days in advance. In a time when all more affordable hotels in Thessaloniki were booked (or at least were pretending they were), Nea Metropolis responded very politely and promptly. The hotel is aneo-classical building from around 1920, so it has high ceilings and all the modern comfort.... more

We loved this hotel! We walked there from the train station with no problem. The location is on a tree-lined street, and the architecture is fabulous. The front desk clerk was very helpful, whipping out this huge blown-up map of the area and highlighting the route to walk to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were clean... more

When i needed to stay for 2 days in Thessaloniki i wanted something low-budget, good reachable by the airport but also close to Thessaloniki's main tourist attractions. This hotel was definitely the right choice - the cheapest one available, only 10 minutes walking from the sea, the main square, all the major sights (ancient forum, churches, tower) and a shopping... more
