Me and my boyfriend went to a little weekend trip to the highlands and had the fortune to book at Tigh Na Sgiath Country Hotel. This is a quite and charming hotel which is in a beautiful location. The owners are friendly and discrete and extremely professional. We stayed in the "Tulchan" Superior Four Poster Room, which is beautifully decorated,... more

Superb hotel. We were welcomed when we were arrived and offered a drink even though it was eleven at night. Our bags were then carried to our large room with lovely views and a great bathroom. I especially liked the plush carpets in the room. In fact the whole hotel seemed very plush, and was of a 4* standard. The... more

We stayed for 2 nights in August 08 in a superior room for dinner, bed & breakfast. 1st thing that struck me was how clean the hotel was - especially the bedroom & bathroom. Everything was immaculate. Our bedroom was extremely spacious & it was a nice touch to have fruit provided in the room. We had booked in for... more

Anywhere that invites you to sit in the lounge with a free whisky or sherry while checking in has to bode well for the rest of the time. The owners seem to run the hotel themselves with very few other staff but this does not affect the attention they give you at any time. Our room was huge and the... more

Fabulous hotel - excellent "hands on" hosts. Four of us stayed in two superior rooms on bed breakfast and evening meal basis. All food is first class as is the hotel and surroundings.Evening meal would put some first class restaurants in the shade. If you have the chance be sure to give this hotel a visit. more

You are made to feel so welcome from the moment you arrive, staying here is a wonderful experience. There are lovely places to sit and relax in from of an open fire and some lovely views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The food is imaginative and dinner was a definite highlight. Attention to detail is everywhere, from fresh flowers and fruitbowls,... more

I stayed in this hotel for our 3rd wedding anniversary, for 3 nights, we enjoyed it so much, my wife wants us to go back every year now!!!!! Iain, the owner was so helpful, so nice, so professional and experienced that I am not surprised his hotel is ranked number 1 by tripadvisor readers. The hotel itself is lovely, full... more

My husband and I spent our third wedding anniversary here in June 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and cosy traditional country house hotel. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner offering a choice of quality local produce beautifully prepared, while the sevice was warm and friendly without being intrusive. A particular highlight was the enormous... more

A wonderful way to experience the joys of Scotland. The house is warm and welcoming as are the hosts. A wonderful afternoon was spent in front of the fire on a cold November day. The food was excellent, with a new menu every day, making for an exceptional dining experience. The house has been maintained with an old world charm,... more

My husband and I stayed here in the third week of November with my brother and sister-in-law and the hotel was so busy , we could only have one night. But what a treat. We have stayed before and were not disappointed a second time. The owners are charming and friendly without being obtrusive and the food is second to... more
