My husband and I stayed one night in a lake view room (#15) that was spacious, well-decorated, and extremely comfortable. There was a settee in front of a large picture window that looked out over the lake and surrounding mountains. The bed was large - but it was made of two twins put together to create the king - which... more

This was the most relaxing few days we have had for a long time, the staff and the owners were the most attentive i have ever met. The food was brilliant , dinner and breakfast was superb. They even got a packed lunch for me when i was fishing on the lake, which is about 15 meters from hotel. Overall... more

My husband and I love this place!!! The hotel is very charming with lots of fireplaces, antiques, and books and photos. It is right along the lake, with lots of little footpaths you can take. We went through, what we call our tunnel of love. It's a beautiful walkway they made through the brush. One side leads to a small... more

Three years in a row we stayed at this property and each time it got better. The Views, the room, the food, the owners so welcoming. From pre-dinner drinks sitting in front of open fires waiting to choose what to have for dinner, to returning to your room at the end of the day - it was heaven on earth. more

My boyfriend and I are just back from a romantic weekend at the Carrig Country House. It is a beautiful lakeside hotel with a marvellous garden full of different threes and flowers that were in blossom that time. As soon as we got there, Frank and Mary welcomed us with a nice tea served outside while we were enjoying the... more

We stayed at Carrig House half way through our honeymoon in Ireland. We had stayed in Galway and Ennis and were looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet away from a town. We werent disappointed. When we arrived Frank told us he had upgraded us to the presidential suite-it was fantastic. It had a four poster bed (which... more

We stayed at this hotel recently and whilst we enjoyed our stay we did find some aspects disappointing. The setting of the hotel is wonderful, with fabulous views over the lake, the hotel itself is very welcoming and comfortable to stay in. We were surprised not to have some assistance with getting our luggage to our room which was up... more

The Carrig House is as beautiful as the website shows. However, I agree with a previous reviewer that the location is not as great as I would have liked for touring the Ring of Kerry. It is located about 10 minutes from Killorglin. Frank and Mary were very courteous and helpful, but it was hard lugging 3 suitcases up to... more

The house is a charming little place, oversold by the website, but still nice. Your typical old inn-style furnishings and older bathrooms. The views from the backyard are stunningly gorgeous and the garden clearly reflects a lot of love. However, the location is less than ideal. It is about 10 minute drive to the town (which isn't all that nice... more

My wife & I spent 2 evenings at this marvelous lakeside property recently; what an experience! This venerable home fronts beautiful Caragh Lake that, in turn, fronts a distant range of mountains. Absolutely beautiful! The dining room takes in this sweeping vista, so your evening/morning meals will be memorable indeed. Both Frank and Mary operate this house with quiet effeciency,... more
