This place was awesome! It was in a safe neighbourhood and was right opposite the subway which only took 10 mins to get down to the main attractions of DC. We travelled the US and stayed in many hostels and this one was one of the best, the staff were very laid back which made people more relaxed, they'd generally... more
I loved this hostel! It was the most fun place to stay during my trip in the U.S. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I read some of the other reviews and I can not share their bad experience they seemed to have at that hostel. It is true that they just have 3 bathrooms (each on one floor)... more
Even the location of the hostel is close to the subway and the neighborhood is safe, I will not recommend this hostel. Firstly, the staff is really very rude while talking to you. Also the people working there had alcohol on their breathe. And it seemed to me that they were ALWAYS drunk! Secondly, there are not enough bathrooms (and... more
The hilltop hostel, while located next to the subway station and one of the cheaper accomodations in DC, was a worse-than-expected stay. I stayed at the Hilltop Hostel for seven days, and upon arriving at the hostel the man who checked me in I smelled alcohol on his breath. There was... more
We stayed at this aweful place......We left and went to the downtown hostel, this place is dirty, stinks like an ashtray, old furntire the is broke down, bed are not comfortable, the house is not a hostel, the owner must be writing her own reveiws because this place is in a bad bad neighborhood. we were approached to buy drugs... more
