The hotel was in good condition and comfortable, however what they pride themselves on in their website is friendly staff, however this does not happen in reality. The staff were unfriendly and rude, and there was little confidence when asking for advice or details on Washington etc... A real shame as the actual hotel was comfortable and homely. more

I have stayed at several places in DC and I tend to like a bit more of a personalised place. If I wanted hotel-type accommodation I would have stayed in a hotel! The staff were just that: staff. No personal touch. The building was creaky and the prices are higher than other similar places in DC. more

I don't think, "personality" and "character" in a B&B necessarily have to mean that there are neither phone, shower, nor TV in the room, the bathtub is decomposing, the sink is clogged and the staff is disinterested.
