I went to Washington for an 8th grade class trip. We stayed 2 nights at the Channel Inn. It was a beautiful location right on Potomac River. It is a distance away from Washington sites, but easily gotten to bus, subway or walking. There is a Safeway just down the block for grocery needs. We did pizza and chinese which... more

I enjoyed my stay ot the Channel Inn. When we arrived, we discovered we had reserved our room to check in the following day, but they were very helpful and added the extra night at the previously arranged rate and checked us straight in. The room was large, although it did have a funny smell... Housekeeping were helpful and pleasent.... more

Good location, but TERRIBLE service: 1. First sent us to a room that was not cleaned by housekeeping yet 2. Send us to a second room that was "cleaned" by housekeeping, but had an open Trojan condom wrapper on the bed 3. Third & final room we received was clean, but the main light was not working 4. Housekeeping barged... more

We are a family of 4 with two teenagers. This hotel was perfect for us. We had a basic room with two double beds, a wonderful balcony view of the marina and water, wifi internet was spotty but okay. We had a lovely meal at the Pier 7 restaurant - you don't have to be too dressy. A caferteria style... more

We were booked to stay here with another family for 4 nights during April school vacation week. The hotel staff sounded very accomodating on the phone and reserved our rooms without deposits. Upon arriving at the nearest Metro stop, we were faced with walking a considerable distance in a very unsavory neighborhood where many industrial buildings were being demolished. The... more

I found this budget hotel on the southwest waterfront to be lovely and charming. Our room had a view of the Potomac. We had our bicycles and from the hotel, we biked around the Smithsonian Mall and beyond. The hotel was basic, but for us, the location was ideal. more

The hotel is old and outdated. It is only 2 blocks from the Metro, which is about the only positive about it. The rooms and decor reminded me of 60s Las Vegas, and the staff did not go the extra mile. When I asked for them to store my luggage until my room was ready, they told me to put... more

My friends and I stayed at the Channel Inn, as we ventured to H2O night club for New Year's Eve... It's right down the street! The price was outstanding and to top it off, it's the only waterfront hotel in D.C. I really enjoyed this. The rooms have balconies and the view is pretty amazing. Staff was wonderful, the front... more

The Channel Inn is cheaper than many other DC hotels and in quite a good location, so for this reason it is a good choice of accommodation. But the staff were only average - not rude, but not very friendly or helpful. Our room was a non-smoking room but the nicotine smell was so strong that we had to keep... more

We are a mid 60's year old couple on a modest budget. Prices in Washington were way too expensive for us and so we made reservations at a hotel in Arlington until we looked at Trip Advisor and saw the awful reviews of that place. We were desperate!! Just a couple of weeks before our visit we found Channel Inn... more
