A wonderful hotel located in a charming street (probably the loveliest street in Washington). The rooms are huge, nicely equipped. Surrounding bars and restaurants are great. Highly recommended more

To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for your thoughts and comments about the Topaz Hotel. They are greatly appreciated. I am glad that you were able to enjoy your stay. The Topaz Hotel does have a great location! I do hope that you are able to join us again! Thank you and have a nice day!
We mostly loved the Topaz - especially the groovy surroundings. The room was fabulous, clean and amazingly decorated. It was a nice room to walk into after a day of travelling. The bathroom was pleasant and the Aveda toiletries were a nice touch. There was only one bathrobe even though two of us were staying, which was an annoying discovery... more
My brother and I brought our parents to DC to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted everything to be perfect and did a lot of research on hotels. I did see some bad reviews for this one, but the location and price were perfect, so we booked. From the moment we arrived, it was a great experience. The staff... more
The Topaz is a nice hotel, a little off the beaten path but very close to DuPont metro, restaurants, etc. We had actually stayed in this building before prior to renovation - what a difference. The rooms are nice with a quirky decor that may not suit everyone. If you are coming for business and are in a standard room... more
The hotel had some nice touches--it was not your standard hotel room (I was on the 10th floor), very large with unusual furniture and designs. At additional expense, I booked an "energy" room which is advertised to have workout equipment in the room. But keep in mind there is no guarantee you will get the equipment you request --and I... more
Stayed here for a conference the week of March 3rd. Our group had 5 rooms. All of us enjoyed our stay and the accomodations at the hotel. I must say the front desk personnel were very polite and professional. One of them, a young lady who works the day shift, could be America's next top model. Very polite and polished.... more
I have enjoyed all the Kimpton hotels I have stayed at - they have more exciting decor than the usual chain hotels. The Topaz was no exception. It was fun atmosphere with intense colors instead of browns and neutrals. The basics were good - comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom, free wireless, friendly and responsive hotel staff. The bar downstairs... more
My husband and I stayed at the Topaz for three nights and absolutely loved the place. The location is perfect...only two blocks from Dupont Circle and the metro stop. This hotel is very zen-oriented....serenity stones on the bed, a yoga channel on the TV, and they even have specialty rooms for those who are really serious about yoga. The rooms... more
This hotel is on a nice quiet street, good neighborhood and close to the Metro station at DuPont Circle. In the morning complementary coffee and tea is served, along with a continental breakfast for a fee. There is an electric tea kettle in the room, mugs and tea bags - a very nice touch. Beds were comfortable, bathroom clean and... more
My husband and I recently stayed at the Topaz over the New Year for 5 nights. The hotel and staff are wonderful with spacious rooms, great bed (the pillows could be better, but that's the only flaw I found) and friendly staff. The bar inside the hotel is a must try with great window seats and fun seasonal focused drink... more
