This is the nicest hostel I've stayed in. The common areas (bar, pool table, internet, tv room, kitchen, ) are all top notch and facilitate meeting other travels. This hostel really is lovely, its been done up so well and the owners have really done a good job of making a really comfortable stay. Only problem was the staff/they were so full of themselves and seemed to have more important things to do than to see to the problems or query of the visitors! And not only one... more

Above a bar and a bit noisy if you plan on an early night. GORGEOUS house, good kitchen & breakfast, roof terrace, cosy TV room, however, you do pay for the privilege, the most expensive backpacker hostel I stayed at in Chile at $11000 for a dorm bed. We stayed at the Happy House Hostel for two consecutive weekends in August. The place has been beautifully renovated and is in a great part of Santiago - one block from both Metro Cumming and Plaza Brasil. The free internet is handy and the bar very pleasant. What an excellent place to stay. We can only repeat the earlier reviews. In a beautifully restored building, the rooms are excellent. We had a 3 person room with private bathroom. Which was excellent. They even have a pool-room (thats billiards, not swimming) Staff are extremely helpfull and friendly and speak good english. more
