Since we had only one whole day (and 2 nights) in Lima we wanted to stay in centro. This place is very reasonably priced for its very central location on San Martin Plaza and can be booked (through an agency) on the hotel's website. we booked this hotel because of the positive reviews, and the pictures in their web site..well dont be fooled by them, in fact this hotel was built in 1923 and it still the same way as it was! This hotel has amazing architecture, and the staff is quite helpful. However, the neighborhood is genuinely very unsafe, and its probably not worth staying here given that it is not much more money to stay in Miraflores neighboorhood which is dramatically safer. Especially at night. The central location IS nice during the daytime however. more
